Creating consciously begins with your focus
Where you focus your attention is where you are.
Hello friends, normal everyday life is filled with endless distractions and competition for our focus, our attention. Where you put your attention is where you are, it’s where you put your energy.
Your choice to focus on something or someone is a form of communication, “I see you”. A connection is made with attention and focus, and it’s valuable.

Creating consciously begins with your focus

You may not fully appreciate how much value there is in your focus, in what you pay attention to.
The simple act of putting your attention onto something creates change in whatever the thing is. Your attention is enough to shift the energy of that thing. This is called the observer effect. According to Wikipedia: “In science, the term observer effect means that the act of observing will influence the phenomenon being observed.”
When you focus consciously on something, you have an effect on it. This is because where you put your focus is where you put your energy. Where you put your energy is where you are spiritually, as a being. Where you put your energy is where you create. No wonder marketing geniuses do everything in their power to get you to focus on their product, cause, idea, or belief. You are powerful.
Your attention point is so valuable that it’s constantly being competed for. The people in your family, those you work with, friends, marketers, salespeople, entertainers, news shows, political candidates – everyone wants to get your attention. The competition is stiff and the playing field is full. Just imagine – if all of those people are competing to have you pay attention to them, you must possess something incredibly valuable.
What are you focusing on now?
If you spend a lot of time and energy focusing on someone else’s problems, you might have a difficult time focusing on what it is you want to create. If you keep getting caught up in the dramas of those around you, you’re not paying attention to your own spirit, and it may be more difficult to listen to and receive benefit from your own wisdom.
You can still help and care about others, and I hope that you do. But, there is a difference between caring about someone and putting all of your attention, energy and focus on helping that person ‘solve’ their problem. Yes, I’m talking to you fixers and out of control healers in the audience. If you keep looking for other people’s problems to solve, you have a great excuse to not do your own work. You are putting blocks in your own way.
If you have a habit of putting your attention on negatives, like your own self perceived shortcomings, you’ll be limited as to how much of your energy is available to manifest your new creations. If you’ve got your attention on the past, trying to solve old issues you cannot ever solve, your energy, your spirit, isn’t here. You can get pretty stuck this way.
You’ll need that all important part of you – your spirit – in order to create what it is you want. The more of your energy you can have here now, where your body is, the easier it is to create effortlessly.
So, what would happen if you were to turn your attention point back to yourself and your own life?
Begin by asking yourself honestly, do you find the latest antics by out of control celebrities and politicians more entertaining than your own life? Are the personal dramas of your friends and family taking up so much of your energy that you barely have enough left to take care of your needs? Do you spend a lot of time watching TV, most of it bad news?
All of this has the effect of scattering your energy so that you don’t have it with you.
You can decide to become conscious about where you are putting your energy. Doing this will help you to heal yourself, get to know yourself better, learn more about what is true for you now, what’s out of date, and what you really want.
Meditation and grounding will help you with this, because when you practice these simple tools, you naturally bring your attention back to yourself now, in this moment.
If you focus on happiness, peace, joy, love, forgiveness, and gratitude, you’ll create these energies in your life. You’ll have them available for your own use. If you pay attention to what your body needs from you, and you listen to it, you’ll create a healthy diet, and you’ll know what your body needs to stay vibrant. If you listen to your intuition, your still small voice within, you’ll allow yourself to be guided in ways nothing else can do for you.
It’s hard to sit still and focus when there are so many distractions in the world.
If you find time every day to sit and listen to yourself and to your body, without outside interference, you’ll gain valuable information. Your body is wise, and so are you. All of that outside grit and noise can wear down your ability to listen, so you have to decide to own it. Once you begin, you’re on your way!

Inspiration for being present with yourself
Fears about the future can, understandably, send us out of our bodies and then we are not present. When we are scattered, it’s easier for more fears to hang on, and things can feel heavy and hopeless.
I’ve been working on my own tendency to do this by reminding myself of what is working right now. Humor is a big plus!
Work in the garden, go outside, be in nature!
Nature is always in present time with itself. The focus is here and now, even more so in a garden where everything changes daily. I see some plants in my spring garden just starting to take off, especially the herbs I replanted last year. It’s so exciting, and my entire body and being calm down and come together when I’m out in my garden.
This photo was taken this morning in my backyard garden. You can see the raised bed in the foreground that is prepped to have pepper plants planted this week, as well as the herbs in pots, new herb patch, and the garden I dug last year starting to show me what’s what so I can choose what’s next. I love my daily morning garden time, and find myself getting out there several times a day just to visit.
Thank you for reading! Please share with a friend. Love, Kris
